Sanpete County Jail Division

The Sanpete County Jail is at 1500 South Highway 89, Manti, UT 84642. The main phone is (435) 835-2191. The facility has 128 cell beds spread over two floors with eight cells per block. Each block has a day room. Plans call for two more phases that would bring total capacity to 384 beds over time. The jail uses state-of-the-art control software with touch screens to manage inmate movement and cell utilities.

The jail has a classroom area for inmate education, a non-denominational chapel, and a medical clinic staffed by a doctor and an RN. Most court visits happen by video arraignment from the jail. This keeps the judge in the court and the inmate in the jail, which is safer and faster.

Sanpete County Inmate Visitation

Sanpete County uses NCIC for all inmate visitation. Visits happen by video only. There are no in-person or barrier visits, even for clergy. Free on-site visits can happen at the jail during set hours. Remote visits from a phone or computer cost $0.30 per minute. All visits run up to 30 minutes at one time.

On-site hours are Monday through Saturday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday hours are 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. All visitors must be approved before the visit. You must submit a profile at ncic.com with a current selfie and a valid ID.

Minors can visit only if they are related and have an application signed by a parent or guardian. The jail uses facial recognition during each visit. Both the inmate and the visitor must stay still for the system to work.

Courts and GRAMA Requests

Sanpete County sits in the Sixth District Court. Felony and Class A misdemeanor cases go there. Smaller cases go to the Justice Court. Both post case info on the state court site at utcourts.gov. Copy fees at the court are $0.25 per page. Certified copies cost $4 per document. You can search case records online or ask the clerk in person.
